The Runaways: A rewind to the 70's
I am going to try and write a post in 10 minutes... probably isn't going to be possible... I have had so much work and I know that if I don't post now, I'm never going to get to writing this.
So anyway, cutting to the chase here... musical and fashion inspiration (they always seem to be linked together) The Runaways. anyone heard of them? This post is my montage to them. they were the first girls rock band in about the 70's. i don't know how i survived without their music! I am completely obsessed! Their music has a very bad-ass and rebel vibe. I recently saw the movie, The Runaways based off of the band starring Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning, and I was blown away!
______ (so this is where my internet was cut off, so im finishing it now) ______
Anyways...back to the movie re-cap! I was completely impressed... Actually as soon as I saw the costumes I was gone. I almost hyperventilated when I saw Dakota's shoes for the talent show scene (they were glittery platformed sandals, similar to the Marc Jacobs Resort... I was out of my seat). The basic story behind the movie was how The Runaways rock band came about and how Joan Jett's career was launched. If any of you have heard of Joan Jett, you should have heard of The Runaways!
So the movie is how I became obsessed with the band. Their rebel, all-girl music and personal style completely pulled me in!
(If you haven't seen the movie, I highly recommend it.)All these pictures are of the original Runaways band. The main blond, Cherie Currie was the main singer, and the main face of the band. They're most known for their song, Cherry Bomb! (and I have been singing the song for days now.. it's starting to get on everyone's nerves)
I do not own any of these photos!
