Elegance AND Comfort?

Back-to-basics (or should I say A Call to the Past) was certainly a pattern on many runways this fall. The Marc Jacobs fall collection, also, seemed to embody the past. However there was also an air of mystery and romance; the soft, muted colors of the clothes suggested a simple yet timelessly, classic era. Long skirts and maxi dresses floated down the runway one after another, elegance and comfort both suggested in the clothing....

The elegance mixed with the simplicity and practicality left the audience in awe. A long evening dress made with jersey, cozy socks stuffed into satin slippers, a glittering cardigan paired with a tweed skirt, a fairy-like dress worn with a sweater vest, and a sweater hastily thrown over a shimmering dress brought the elegance back down to earth. I could almost here them saying, "let's practicalize this and add some grunge to that." Afterall, we can't always go around in our most impractical outfits! It can be difficult to let go of our sky-high heels, and remember the past. But sometimes we all need a breather from impracticality... and the Marc Jacobs collection was just that, it brought back the past and with it, a sigh of relief.

What do you guys think of the new grungy elegance and comfort?

Sandals galore...and heels

I know, I know. I haven't written anything in AGES..... and yes, I said I would try to write more often.... sometimes it's difficult to think of something to write about... and for that I apologize!
So, here's something quick! A LIST OF SHOES (I can never have)...
Moschino chic & cheap....... can you not see someone strutting around in these somewhere in Notting Hill (LDN)?

-->strange desire to wear these shoes with socks...

Ditto to the brand

Ditto
Diane con Furstenburg
(these are probably a little more sane than the previous!)

xo

P.S. I wouldn't necessarily call these sandals, but I think they're just too amazing not to gaze at...
can we please just have a moment of silence as we dream of owning these shoes?

Strutting forward to fame, Karlie Kloss

Models have become more and more recognized as well as appreciated in the world of fashion. There are important traits to being a model such as being tall as well as attractive, but it's also a much more demanding job than most people think. It's difficult to become established in the industry as it is constantly refreshing and changing, and as time goes on, people come and go. Even with those who are established, the precarious balance can suddenly change and you can easily plummet. In terms of modeling, the safest are those who are practically celebrities such as Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell. But then there are those few models who may not be celebrities but have made a name for themselves and are recognized to be the "it" models.

When asked to think of an established and largely popular model, the first person who comes to mind is Karlie Kloss. Karlie Kloss has become a well known model and her face is found everywhere nowadays. Her career is one that any model would be happy to follow in the footsteps of. She is currently the face of Dior and Hermes. Last year, in 2009 Karlie was in countless Vogue spreads. This fall season she has already opened the show for Dior as well as Karl Lagerfeld. Not to mention that she is the face of Lola perfume, Marc by Marc Jacobs. She has become an established figure and model in the world of fashion.
